Elroy Keetso is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation (Nihoobáanii clan, born for the Tsé Nahabiłnii clan) from Counselor, NM. He brings over 12 years of tribal planning experience across comprehensive, strategic, land use, capital improvement, recreation, and climate adaptation planning. Elroy has also served in legal support roles and held key positions with the NM State Indian Affairs Department and the U.S. Forest Service, managing tribal capital projects and strengthening Nation-to-Nation relations.
His community-based research work with UNM focuses on language revitalization, food sovereignty, and intergenerational knowledge sharing. Elroy holds a B.U.S. in Pre-Law, Native American Studies, and Political Science and a Master’s in Community & Regional Planning with a certificate in Historic Preservation from UNM’s Indigenous Design + Planning Institute. He is deeply committed to advancing sustainable development and tribal self-determination.
