Our Land Acknowledgment

Sagebrush Ltd. wishes to recognize that the land they occupy is the traditional and present-day homelands of the Nuuchiu (or Ute people) from time immemorial. We also recognize the Diné, Jicarilla Apache, and Pueblo peoples for whom this land has been and continues to be a gathering place for trading and ceremony.

As we recognize this rich history, we ask that these elders, past and present, allow us to be here today in a good way. So that they might help us, bring people together to heal, and find common ground. We acknowledge that many of us walk as grateful guests upon this land. And we respect and care for the natural and cultural resources that allow us to call this beautiful place home.

Our intention is that this land acknowledgment may serve as a poignant reminder today that, collectively, we still have much work to do in disrupting and dismantling colonialism in ourselves, our work, and our communities.

With that, we intend to ground our work together in an equity and anti-racist lens. Through our work and leadership, we have the unique opportunity to re-envision and manifest a new way of being as organizations, groups, and communities, creating more equitable and interconnected communities and living right-relationship with the earth.

We do this work for growth and healing, in service to the human and more-than-human world.

“Thank you so much for your help and hosting the retreat for PWN.  I personally felt it was fantastic!  You did a great job and I think that was just what we needed to get a jump on how to move forward!  I can't wait to see how PWN grows in 2021.  We have scheduled our follow up meeting to discuss all the action plans and make a more detailed calendar!  We are meeting next week.”
