Kate has a M.A. in Social Justice and Human Rights from Arizona State University. After completing her B.A. in Psychology from Fort Lewis College she spent time teaching in Bernalillo, New Mexico. Soon after, she began working at Fort Lewis as the Professional Advocate and Case Manager for several years and is currently the Title IX Coordinator. Living in Durango, she spends time mountain biking, spending time with her dog, and reading. Much of her research and work is around LGBTQIAA2+ issues, Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the workplace, Gender Equity, Creating Brave spaces, and broader community work. With a lifetime in the 4 corners area, Kate uses this unique location as a lens for the work she does. As a queer & multicultural woman she knows the importance of this work both in our community and in the world. Kate is the owner and lead consultant of Suazo Equity Consulting.
